Storie Construction Group is a collaboration of seasoned managers and superintendents with solid backgrounds in the construction business. Decades of experience for each, combined with the beneficial relationships with subcontractors and vendors, enable us to provide our clients with the highest level of professionalism and solid dedication to their needs. Our primary goal is to provide our clients with top service, building solutions and professionalism for every project we undertake. This philosophy helps to ensure a smooth project that is completed on time, within budget and that most of all, reflects the highest level of standards our customers have come to expect.
Our estimating system is built on a Microsoft Excel platform developed with the flexibility to create systems evaluations, cost comparisons, and assist in value engineering for almost every type of project. Our historical data (past estimates with similar construction systems) establishes a framework to ensure that every portion of the project has a value (nothing is left out) and comparison to past project information is easily accomplished.
We remain proud of our ever expanding database of trade partners. All trade partners are pre-qualified with regards to capacity, dependability, insurance, etc. and we endeavor to keep continuous communication with each. Trade partner relationships and competition is paramount to the success of Storie Construction Group.
One of our greatest strengths is providing value engineering recommendations to maximize a client’s return on capital outlay and operations resources during the Preconstruction process. The truth is: We work on every project with a mindset that the project will be more costly than an established concept. Considering ever changing market conditions and uncertain durations associated with cost savings. There is always material, system or means & method that is being re-developed/re-tooled
For most Developer/Owners, cost will continue to be the determining factor in project decision making. In all cases, we maintain an “open book” philosophy yielding a well understood budget and no surprises at the end of the project.
Our scheduling system is built on a Microsoft Project platform developed with the flexibility to create schedules for many types of projects and to convey information in various levels of detail. Our historical data (past schedule information with similar construction systems) coupled with solid input from our trade partners enables us to create project specific schedules.
An initial project schedule is established for every project. That initial schedule continues to grow as scope and systems are more clearly defined. For example, the initial schedule may include time for elevator work as an activity and a duration contributing to project completion. During subsequent schedule updates detail will be included showing more specific duration and activity logic (setting of equipment, rails & platform, cab construction, cab finishes, testing, inspections). Certainly the more detailed a system can be evaluated/broken down the better the scheduling tool.
Our project schedules are utilized as a tool to timely procure materials and trade partners, plan for shop drawing submissions and review, evaluate fabrication and delivery specifics, etc. Project schedules are updated with great frequency. Based on material deliveries, weather, etc. project activity phasing and logic needs to adjust and recover constantly.
The Project Superintendent and Project Manager are involved with planning and implementing the specific safety considerations for each project. Mark Card, President, is the organization’s safety director. Mr. Card visits each project with great frequency. A safe site is accomplished by effective communication. Safety meetings are established weekly with all Trade Partners performing work at the site. Separate “breakout” meetings are held with each Trade Partner to establish a platform for safe work.
Representatives of our insurance agent and our insurance company visit each project on a regular basis. We welcome the valuable set of “additional eyes.” Storie Construction Group has had no lost time accidents and no reported violations issued by OSHA
